Nikolay Madoyan
Violinist

Nikolay Madoyan stands among the most remarkable violinists of his generation, admired for his depth of interpretation, flawless technique, and commanding stage presence. Throughout his career, he has collaborated with leading orchestras and renowned conductors including Kurt Masur, Claudio Abbado, Richard Hickox, Valery Gergiev, Leopold Hager, Helmut Müller-Brühl, János Fürst, Frans Brüggen, Dmitri Kitayenko, Richard Dufallo,


In recent seasons, Madoyan has engaged audiences with recitals, including two at West Road Concert Hall in England. Collaborations with Ernesto Colombo, Gianluca Marciano, Sergei Stadler, and Juan A. Ramirez showcased wide-ranging programs. His Germany tour with Philipp Amelung and the NCOA earned strong acclaim, while his Italian tour with the Senocrito Festival Orchestra under Gianluca Marciano featured virtuoso works by Paganini and Vivaldi.


In 2025/2026, Madoyan toured Europe performing Paganini’s 24 Caprices with the composer’s original bowings, appearing at major venues like the Berlin Philharmonic and Milan’s Sala Verdi, earning standing ovations and critical praise. The Strad hailed it as “Violinist Nikolay Madoyan: Redefining Boundaries.”


In 2017, Madoyan earned a Guinness World Record designation for his 33-hour performance of classical works. Among his other artistic achievements is his performance of all six Paganini Violin Concertos from memory in a single concert.


Madoyan’s discography have received strong critical praise from BBC Music Magazine, Pizzicato, American Record Guide, Gramophone, and The Strad. A laureate of numerous international violin competitions, Madoyan holds two doctoral degrees in Violin Performance and performs on an early-18th-century Guarneri violin.

Ashot Ariyan
Composer
In 1999, to wide acclaim, Ashot Ariyan performed his own Concerto-Brevis for piano and orchestra in the Great Hall of the Moscow Conservatory, accompanied by the Russian Philharmonic Orchestra. In 2009, his symphonic fresco Sounds of Stonehenge was performed in Montreal by the UdeM Symphony Orchestra. Later, in January 2011, the same work was presented in Armenia by the National Philharmonic Orchestra and in Moscow by the Moscow State Orchestra.

His work Planète X (Un train pour l’enfer II) for seven instruments was performed in Montreal with great success by the Arkea ensemble in November 2013. Many of his chamber works were first performed at the Moscow Autumn International Music Festival. One of his latest compositions is a Cycle of 12 Fugues and Postludes for piano, commissioned by the Region of Waterloo Art Fund (Canada).

In May 2022, the recording company RMN Music (London) released Fugue and Postlude in A as part of the Modern Music for Piano 4 catalogue. In 2016, his music accompanied a presentation of the ballet Two Suns, directed by Rudolf Kharatian and dedicated to the centennial of the Armenian genocide. Since 2020, the ballet Two Suns has been periodically broadcast on Mezzo TV.
